Bloggers Uncensored: with The Military Traveler

Welcome to this weeks Bloggers Uncensored! If this is your first time reading a BU interview, this is my longest running blog series, and definitely my favourite. This series is a perfect opportunity to read your favourite bloggers' honest and uncensored opinions on real life topics, and to discover new bloggers to follow! This weeks blogger is The Military Traveler.

Tell us a little about yourself.

I'm a retired military veteran after 30 years of service. I've been writing and traveling most of my life.

Why do you write?

I like the creative outlet.

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging to have something to do and it justified me traveling.

What do you love about the blogging world/community?

I am really impressed with the friendliness and the cooperation within the community.

What do you hate about the blogging world/community?

Nothing. I haven't had any negative interaction with the blogging community.

In your opinion, who are the most underrated bloggers?

Lol, me of course. I would give a shout out to PoofBeGone.com She's one of my favourites.

What are some hard truths you have learnt about life?

I learned early on to rely upon myself and not others. It's not a bad thing but sometimes people take it the wrong way.

What does freedom mean to you?

Well as a veteran it means a lot. We were taught that freedom was worth dying for.

What are your thoughts on mental health and how it's portrayed in today's society?

Unfortunately I think mental health is still looked upon with a stigma especially for men. It would be great if everyone would go get treated just like any other ailment.

What are your thoughts on feminism and how it's portrayed in today's society?

I think everyone should be treated exactly the same but as we can see in today's society that's not happening yet.

What are your thoughts on 'Love is Love' and how it's portrayed in today's society?

I think it's getting portrayed better but there are parts of the world where there is still a problem. I think everyone should be free to choose who they love.

What advice would you give to someone who is fighting a mental illness?

It's a daily struggle and they're not alone. Get the help you need and don't be afraid to talk with others.

What advice would you give to someone who is being bullied or harassed?

Get help. Find someone that can intervene or get out of the situation.

If you could rid the world of one thing, what would it be?

Hatred. There is absolutely no need for it.

What else do you feel strongly about?

Truth. No need for lies either.

Let's end this with some fun 'This or That' questions:

Love or money?

Love because money can't buy me love. Thank you Beatles.

Work hard or play hard?

Play hard, I've had enough of the word hard.

Cups in the cupboard: right side up or upside down?

Right side up, upside down is just wrong.

Chocolate or sex?

Definitely both. Nothing wrong with them both at the same time.

Plan everything or wing it?

I'm a trained planner. I try to wing it sometimes but it just doesn't feel right.

Happiness or money?

Same as above but money can buy things that make you happier.
